The Black Tigers offense was red hot to start the game with all nine batters making a plate appearance . Tommie Thompson walked and moved to third on Brooke Waffen’s sacrifice bunt that was misplayed by the Bulldogs. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kylee Phillips doubled to center field to plate both Tommie and Brooke. Katie Carrell had an RBI double to center field and Julie Phillips singled to center filed to move her to third base. Avery Burns entered the game as a courtesy runner for Julee and was credited with a stolen base. Megan Cowher had a sacrifice fly to left field to score Katie and move Avery to third base. Kenzie Kramer singled to left field to move Avery across the plate. Kenzie advanced to second on a stolen base. Grace Shaffer lined out to the shortstop for the second out of the inning. Makayla McAllister flied out to right filed to end the half inning. Woodridge scored one run in the bottom of the first inning as the leadoff batter Sarah Rathbun walked and moved to second base on Bergdorf’s groundout to fristbaseman Katie Carrell. Rathbun advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on Bella McBride’s groundout to the shortstop. Alivia Collura flied out to center fielder Tommie Thompson to end the inning.

The Black Tigers were held scoreless in the second inning as Tommie Thompson, Brooke Waffen, and Kylee Phillips all had fly balls to the outfield. Woodridge scored one run in the bottom half of the inning on a one-out home run by Porter.

The top half of the third inning opened up with Katie Carrell reaching base on error and advancing to third base on Julee Phillips’ double to right field. Avery Burns replaced Julee on the basepath . Megan Cowher singled to left field scoring Katie and moving Avery to third base. Alayna Metheny entered the game as a courtesy runner for Megan and advanced to second on defensive indifference. Kenzie Kramer hit a fly ball to centerfield for the first out. Grace Shaffer popped out to the second baseman in foul territory for out number two. Makayla McAllister walked to load the bases. Tommie Thompson popped out to the first baseman for the third out. Woodridge score one run in the third inning as Sarah Rathbun had a one out walk and Bella McBride walked with two outs. Rathbun scored on Collura’s single to center field and McBride moved to third on the throw home. Dennison grounded out to Julee Phillips to end the Bulldog’s rally.

Brooke Waffen stepped to the plate and delivered a triple to deep left field to one up the fourth inning. Brooke scored on Kylee Phillips’ ground out to the second baseman. Katie Carrell flew out to centerfield and Julee Phillips struck out to end the half inning. Woodridge scored one run in the bottom of the 4th as Mathis hit a one-out single to left field and moved to second base on Gregory’s infield single. Rathbun put the ball in play and it was mishandled by the defense allowing Mathis to score. Julee Phillips struck out Bergdorf to thwart the rally.

Three runs crossed the plate in the top half of the fifth inning as Megan Cowher led off the inning with a single to right field. Alayna Metheny was inserted into the game a a runner for Megan. Kenzie Kramer flew out to center field for out one and Grace Shaffer went down swinging for the second out. Makayla McAllister single to centerfield advancing Alayna to third base. Tommie Thompson doubled on a line drive to center field a RBI. Brooke Waffen hit a deep fly ball to left field for a double that scored both Makayla and Tommie. Brooke was caught stealing to end the half inning. The Black Tiger defense held the Bulldogs scoreless in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Neither team was able to push across a run in the 6th inning as the Black Tigers left two runners stranded and the Bulldogs only sent three players to the plate.

The Cuyahoga Falls offense produced one run in 7th inning as Avery Burns had a pinch-hit double to lead off the inning. Makayla McAllister grounded out to the shortstop to advance Avery to third base. Avery scored on Tommie Thompson’s sacrifice fly to centerfield. Brooke Waffen flew out to left field for the third out. Julee Phillips struck out the first two batters of the inning. The Bulldogs rallied to load the bases as McBride and Collura singled and Dennison walked. Porter grounded out to second base to end the game.

Julee Phillips recorded 12 strikeouts for the game.
