Black Tigers News · Update from Cuyahoga Falls Athletic Director, Kenny Johnson

Black Tiger Nation-

The closing of schools by Governor DeWine on Monday also means the end of the Spring Sports Season. This is very unfortunate for all the athletes, and coaches. It breaks my heart to see these kids not get the opportunity to play the sport they love, and have committed so much time too! I know this is not easy, especially for the Seniors, but we will get through this, and it will make us all stronger in the end!

All school facilities will remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Non – contact period remains until May 3rd. I am sure this order may be extended as time goes on, we will keep you informed on this ever changing situation.

For all the Spring Athletes wondering about uniform turn-in procedures, and Spring Awards we are working on that as we speak and will have more information available in the very near future. I have been in contact with Life Touch about our Spring Pictures as well, and will hopefully be able to get them to you in the next couple of weeks.

As far as summer activities such as, camps, practices and work-outs, they are all on hold until we get word from the Governor and OHSAA as far as guidelines. I would advise you to do as much as you can, on your own to keep your skills at a high level. The work you put in now will show when we all get back to normal activities!

Mass Physicals that were scheduled on May 6, 2020 will be postponed to a later date. If you are a fall athlete, don’t worry we will do our best to get this re-scheduled before the season starts.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me. I hope you all are healthy, and safe and as always GO BLACK TIGERS!
